Rotherham Civic Theatre and Arts Centre

Rotherham Civic Theatre is a converted church in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England which is now a medium-scale proscenium arch theatre playing host to a wide program of professional and amateur dance, drama, musicals, children’s theatre, comedy, music and pantomime. The Arts Centre offers a wide range of spaces including a small scale black box studio theatre, arts and craft room, meeting rooms and café/bar. Over the years, the theatre has seen many performances from many different groups, but the Rotherham Teachers Student Academy (RTSA) - with an age span of 8 to 19 year olds - have performed various shows at the civic. - The Yorkshire premier of Seussical The Musical - One of the first productions of High School Musical: on Stage! with which the RTSA where asked to open and close the European Festival of Dance and Performing arts at Disneyland Paris in October 2008 - The Theatre s first production of Les Miserable (School Edition) - A production of West Side Story is planned in March/April 2010 Rotherham Teachers Student Academy is only the junior leg of the long standing Rotherham Teachers Operatic Society, a society as of 2009 in its 97th year.
