Kubicki and Tony Award winning actress Mia Dillon performed in the reading along with members of Showcase Theatre and other regional groups.In the 1990s Showcase hosted the word premieres of two plays by writer Mark Wolverton (best known for his books The Science of Superman and The Depths of Space) . . Founded in 1963 by a group of Northeastern Pennsylvania Theatre personalities, Showcase Theatre became one of the major performing arts groups in the Luzerne and Lackawanna County regions of Pennsylvania.Dedicated to professional quality theatre in a non profit setting the theatre existed from 1963-2003 producing avant garde,edgy and new works as well as classics and crowd pleasers. Gerald Godwin, Lois Rosensweig, Bob Hensley, Joseph Kelly, Santo Loquasto, Paul Winarski, Dawn Winarski, Mia Dillon, Greg Korin, Jack Gibbons,Michael Gallagher and Toni Nardone. In 1985 Showcase Theatre sponsored a staged reading of the best selling novel Breaker Boys by Jan Kubicki.
