Theatre for the Performing Arts

The Theatre for the Performing Arts is a 7,000 seat theater located in the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. The Performing Arts Center or the Aladdin Theatre for the Performing Arts opened as a 7,500 seat theater for the Aladdin Las Vegas as a part of the 1972 renovations. The theater was the only part of the complex retained during the 1996 reconstruction. The Aladdin and the theater gained international attention on July 18, 2004 when Linda Ronstadt was escorted off the property after expressing support for documentary filmmaker Michael Moore during a concert performance. The theater was the host of the Miss Universe 1991 and 1996, several Miss America beauty pageants, and the Miss USA 2008 pageant.
